Parallel° is a free weather app, given to you as-is. It shows forecasts, not promises, and it carries no emergency alerts. Installing it means you accept what follows.
Not for emergencies
Parallel° does not deliver severe-weather warnings, watches, or emergency alerts of any kind. It will not tell you about a tornado, a hurricane, a flood, a wildfire, or any other dangerous condition, and a quiet screen in Parallel° does not mean you are safe.
Do not use this app to make decisions about safety, evacuation, aviation, marine navigation, or the protection of life or property. For official warnings, use your national weather service — in the United States, that is the National Weather Service — together with local emergency broadcasts and your phone's built-in government alerts.
About the forecast
A forecast is a prediction. It can be wrong, and sometimes it will be. The data Parallel° shows comes from third-party services, and it may be delayed, interrupted, incomplete, rounded, mistranslated between units, or simply mistaken. The app itself may fail to refresh, may show a cached forecast from hours ago, or may show nothing at all.
Parallel° is offered on a best-effort basis. Nobody checks the data before it reaches you, and there is no guarantee that it is accurate, current, or fit for any particular purpose.
Where the data comes from
The app contacts these services directly from your device. Each is independent of Parallel°, sets its own availability, and may change or disappear without notice:
- National Weather Service / NOAA (weather.gov), for forecasts inside the United States. Their data is in the public domain and is provided without warranty. Parallel° is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by NOAA or the NWS.
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), for forecasts elsewhere and for place search, under its own terms.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim, to turn a coordinate into a place name. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.
Your licence to use the app
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Parallel° on devices you control, for your own use. You may not sell it, rent it, or pass it off as your own. You may not reverse engineer it except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this sentence.
The app is free. There is no subscription, no purchase, and no account. You may stop using it at any time by deleting it, which also erases everything it stored on your device.
No warranty
Parallel° is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. No advice or information you get from the app creates any warranty.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of Parallel°, from your inability to use it, or from reliance on anything it shows you. That includes damage to property, lost time, lost profits, and any harm arising from weather you were not warned about.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any statutory consumer rights you have that cannot be waived. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
Changes
These terms may change. The new version will appear on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept it. If a change is significant, it will be noted in the app's release notes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Florida have jurisdiction. If you use the app from somewhere else, any mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply to you.
